  1. i thought they were implying that Grace in her Avatar got pregnant to an unknown Na’vi, not that it was a miracle jesus birth. Also you guys sounded like you were really enjoying it through the movie and then you spent the post film discussion slagging it off. Made your reaction feel disingenuous in hind sight.

  2. The amount of Phantom Menace references in this reaction, I mean I kinda saw them coming (and made some myself when I watched it in cinemas) but still.

  3. IMO, it was absolutely worth spending all that time and money to make it look good. In the end, the Avatar movies aren’t that plot heavy to me, but they are incredibly well produced and beautiful. I didn’t see it IMAX (wish I had been able to), but I still saw it on a big screen and it was so crisp. CGI never made gave me that common CGI ick that most other media do. And I mean, it’s not like I was actually waiting for the next Avatar movie during any of those 10 years lol

  4. Everyone keeps going on about ‘you should have watched it at the cinema, you’re not doing the experience right’. If a movie can’t hold up watching at home, no amount of excuses will make up for it. Either it’s a good film or it’s not

  5. I know its cliche and everyone says it but its so true… You have to experience this movie on the big screen. It is truly incredible and no form of home release can compare.
Ballpark figure on compression between big screen and home release its probably atleast 1Tb per hour of footage in theatres(Not 3D) compared to 60-100GB for the entire movie on Bluray.

It is a major issue many movies encounter in the days of streaming as you lose a lot with the compression.

  6. Gonna be a first time watch for me, cause of this reaction. Didn’t have enough interest to check it out sooner, but am still curious to see how this movie does. The first was so far from a bad movie, but it also wasn’t anything great in my opinion. Just another film telling the same story we’ve seen a thousand times, but on an alien planet that was visually stunning but not that creative. So curious if this holds up to that, is better, or is worse

    1. It’s the same thing here. Again, it’s something you need to need to see in theaters to fully appreciate. I re-watched it with a friend last week, after already having seen it in theater, and it was terrible watching it on a television whereas I actually enjoyed it in theater. Same exact thing with the first one, I think I’ve only seen it once or twice, but when I watched it in theaters it was a great experience.

      1. After watching it for the first time at home, it def would have been more visually spectacular in theaters, but i would have hated watching it in theaters. It was too long a film that often dragged, and i would have likely ended up falling asleep in theaters or leaving at some point. They should have really cut it down. Lots not needed
