I dont get how that one kid thinks using a book to knock someone out makes him badass anyone can do that how is that a miyagi special more like a jackie chan staple and Demetris “win” felt completely unearned and i cant stand him yeah Hawk was a dick this season but Demetri was the one who used personal information to ruin someone in a High School setting which can be bad enough on its own that to me is way worse than anything Hawk did to Demetri
I also wanted to add the writers were great dropping a hint about the way this season would go. I think it’s back in the first episode Sam invites Aisha to hangout. Aisha says she can’t because Sensei wants them to watch the movie Over the Top (fun Stallone arm wrestling movie). Which is exactly what the finale was and several characters were and did.

yep. thats assault with attempted murder and fleeing the scene of a crime all in one charge………….GET EM! oh this show. been a minute since i saw this episode and im an emotional wreck even though i knew what was coming. im a big crybaby like eric lol oh miggy! and the trailer for season 3 had me bawling too. they are so amazing with the writing and acting to make you care so much about these characters
This will be a make or break moment for me when it comes to the writing. Realistically with the aggravated assault AND fleeing while being underage he would be looking at 2-3 years in juvi(if he is 18 and did this he would be looking at 3-5 in prison). Anything less than that will be jumping the shark. Even if they right it so he gets out, its house arrest for a long ass time and he would never be able to do karate again.
I would argue it was self defense on robbie part, since Miguel attacked him. I don’t know what the implications would be of the fleeing the scene in the case.
Miguel could have thought about no mercy before attacking Robbie, and instead helping him break up the fight.

Miguel tackled Robby because he saw Robby with his hand on Tory and kick one of the cobra guys.
That’s what’s great and frustrating about this show. All the miscommunications, misunderstandings and perspectives/perceptions of all the characters and based on or tainted by certain teachings and bad past experiences and insecurities. All the Cobras lost. Hawk losing annoyed me. Miguel won then lost. All the cobras “struck first “ but only because the Miyagis seemed to hide behind the “defense” thing. They all seemed to want to fight just as much and were all pretty self righteous.
You’re right about the Miyagi’s, which I think is another interesting part of this show. Daniel is NOT Mr. Miyagi, and he doesn’t realize that until everything falls apart in this episode. He tries to come across as the wise teacher preaching self-defence and balance, but his inability to move on with Johnny corrupts Mr. Miyagi’s teachings into (as you put it), self righteous, holier-than-though behavior. HIs students are paying the price for his failure.
Now, whether or not this ends up going well for the series will very much depend on if they can stick the landing in season 3. I have some confidence that they will, but only time will tell.
Dimitri’s win annoys me as well. He spent all of season 2 getting bailed out by Robbie for fights he started and then gets win because we are supposed to hate Hawk this season.
