well if you look at the machine, its not super new or futuristic. its very old school steampunk. who says time machines have to be made in the future????????????? doctor doom has had a time platform for decades! as the show has shown lots of high tech and powerful stuff exist in this world in the past. thats not what intangible means. you can be preceived you just cant be touched or touch. invisible woman becomes invisible, kitty pryde becomes intangible aka can still be seen
