You don’t need a Masters to be a substitute teacher! It probably depends on the district (or state?) but in poorer school districts like Philly, you pretty much just need to be willing to show up.
In Florida all you need is a HS degree and to complete a 20 hour certification program. I think certain counties may have stricter requirements, but not many do. Subs in Florida are basically expected to be babysitters in most places.
