Log in to Reply It’s finally here???? Log in to Reply My only problem with this my hero movies is that it starts off so slow excluding the first scene?? Log in to Reply please dont forget not consider it as canon thank you ? Log in to Reply I think this movie is actually Canon cause in the manga we actually did have a shot of Nine in Shigaraki’s flashback. But it was cut in the anime, also in the manga when Shigaraki became grand commander the doctor told him he needed to deliver something, and that something was Nine. Also I loved your reaction go this, it was definitely wroth the wait and now World Heroes Mission is next Log in to Reply You should just consider that an in-manga ad for the movie. Besides, considering what we know about OFA and it being passed to the Quirkless this movie couldn’t possibly be canon. Log in to Reply One For All reaching the level of lethal to quirk users was said to have happened around four months before it was stated. Bakugo used it right before that, so he was fine. Log in to Reply It’s not canon in the slightest Log in to Reply Sorry to burst your bubble but the movies are technically canon. They literally had something recently happen in the manga that was used from the first movie. They made bakugo forget so this specifically probably won’t be brought up in the main series but the characters in the movies and the events exist in the timeline. Log in to Reply you dont know what canon means Log in to Reply horikoshi actually confirmed in an interview he gave about this movie that it is canon. he even shared the time-frame it’d fit in with the canon timeline. Log in to Reply Im not gna argue if its canon or not because apparently the creator stated that it was, but i will say its stupid as fuck and out of character to have bakugo forget tht he had OFA, even if was only for a short time. Thats a very significant thing to happen and him just forgetting it is lazy writing. And The quirk just going back to deku just doesn’t sit well with me. It feels like something non canonical that would only happen in a movie. Plus deku never bringing it up to him afterwards doesn’t seem like something he would do, especially since bakugo knows the secret of OFA and is always updated about it by All Might along with deku. In my opinion, this should just be a movie to sit back and enjoy without tying it in to the main series. All three movies are canon, and the manga specifically set up the events of the second movie long before release. Log in to Reply no Log in to Reply Yes. Log in to Reply If it were canon Bakugo would be dead when he got OFA. Log in to Reply Why would he be dead? If u have a quirk and receive OFA it damages ur body over time, bakugo had OFA for less than 10 mins? Log in to Reply no Log in to Reply I don’t know if it’s canon or not, but it must have been before Endevor faught against the nomu, because it didn’t seem like he had his injuries from that fight. Log in to Reply It’s the week before the work studies, Endeavor clearly has his face scar. Log in to Reply all the stuff that happened is never mentioned again in the anime story so i dont think its canon to it. same as the other movies really Log in to Reply Manga says otherwise. Log in to Reply None of the movies are cannon just because one of the characters in the first movie was mentioned in the manga does not mean the movie was cannon one piece has a similar thing is playing with Shiki the golden lion He is cannon but Strong World is not Log in to Reply You haven’t clearly kept up with the manga. The manga just introduced a character that was directly related to the first movie. The characters and events are in the timeline. They do however make bakugo forget most likely because they don’t want this specifically to be brought back up in the main series. The movies are canon even if they aren’t fully in the manga because the manga still has stuff that directly comes from the movies. Log in to Reply The manga introduced a character from All Might’s flashback that happened in the movie. That at least in canon, but it doesn’t mean the movie itself is. Log in to Reply Melissa literally made Endeavor’s second suit, and has a spin-off approved by Hori, which has been referenced in the canon light novels. Log in to Reply The light novels were not written by Horikoshi and Melissa has never appeared in the manga. That’s like using another movie to justify another movie’s canonity. no i can only speak for what i have seen up to the latest ep in anime. so many other events that happened within the anime series are mentioned multiple times but stuff that has happened in the movies i dont think ive ever heard referenced. maybe further into the anime series they will be mentioned but currently i feel like if anyone was to just watch the anime without the movies they wouldnt be missing anything? dont get me wrong i love the movies, just personally never thought them as canon Log in to Reply They’re canon. The first film has been referenced numerous times, Melissa made Endeavor’s second suit, and the stupid way that Season 5 was handled caused 2 out of the 3 set-ups for the second movie to be cut. Log in to Reply in the anime? i cant remember the events of the first movie ever being mentioned? Log in to Reply The manga, the anime hasn’t kept much of the references due to how the anime paces things. The recent manga arc heavily references the first movie. The light novels are based off Hori’s ideas and and he does all the illustrations for them. Hell, one of them hinted at the underground tunnels twist a year or two ago. And the Melissa spin-off approved by Hori. And the manga has more to it than just panels. There’s also the volume info pages and data books, where Hori mentions the additional things Melissa and David have done since. Plus the MVA epilogue and Interview chapters setting up the second movie long before it was teased. All three films have a prologue chapter made by Hori, setting up their point in the timeline, and he’s already mentioned Rody will show up in the manga eventually. Log in to Reply The movies cannot be canon. At least not in entirety because from what we know about OFA Bakugo should have died when he got it this movie. Log in to Reply Wow…. My favorite moment by far was the final scene with deku and bakugo. I loved how they played that kind of music it felt different from the usual you say run hype. Also you should have just enjoyed it instead of thinking about the logic of it all. This is something that you won’t get in the main series. Just like the all might and deku team up. Bakugo getting one for all and fighting side by side with deku as an equal. Log in to Reply None of the MHA movies have come close to Naruto’s or One Piece’s. It’s just one long forgettable “meh” with some cool Sakuga here and there. Log in to Reply You just described the Naruto and One Piece movies to a T, hence why nobody ever talks about them much anymore. Log in to Reply Nonsense. The movies aren’t talked about anymore because Naruto fans are grown and new fans who got into anime in the mid 2010s with Isekai and AoT missed the long-running Shonen craze. Log in to Reply Most of the naruto and one piece movies are meh as well so I suggest you get over yourself. I grew up with the long running shonen and watched more anime than just the popular ones. The MHA movies are quite good in comparison. Log in to Reply For everyone arguing, canon means something that happened in the manga, these movies are technically canon but they are not canon to the show. That’s the difference, while you can take these events to be true things that happened they do not impact the story of the anime whatsoever. Have a good day and just be nice please. Log in to Reply “they do not impact the story of the anime whatsoever” in other words those movies should be considered as not canon ? Log in to Reply They do impact the story. If you read the manga you would understand why the first movie has such a strong connection to the most recent event and character in the manga. Log in to Reply Plus Nine being a prototype of what the Doctor is doing to Shigaraki. Log in to Reply they are not canon you know how can you know that ? events of those movies never mentioned in anime show (except filler episode for marketing first movie) and have zero impact on story in anime show or zero impact on character development … why do you think in the end Bakugo forgot? because it is not canon FFS … Log in to Reply Manga says otherwise. Log in to Reply Would love to see them react to the new movie’s trailer! It is definitely safe to watch because it takes place during the Endeavor Agency arc. Also, only the first movie has been confirmed as canon because of current manga events. Log in to Reply Second movie is canon because the manga set it up. Log in to Reply Wow, overreaction much? Log in to Reply Holy shit, just watched WHM (then Shang-Chi right after) in the theater and now THIS!? Glad I skipped the FanExpo this year ? lol Log in to Reply The plot of this movie is Horikoshi’s scrapped idea for the original MHA ending before it exploded in popularity and needed to continue. So in terms of ‘canonicity’ it’s canon-adjacent at best. Just because a character from a movie shows up in the manga/anime doesn’t automatically mean everything from the movie is true canon. Horikoshi did the character designs, and is free to use them in the manga as an easter egg. So Melissa and David exist in-universe but that doesn’t mean the whole I-Island plot from the first movie also happened in-universe. If it were fully canon, they would say so, like for The Last Naruto the Movie. Log in to Reply “The Last” in Canon, yet never brought up in the final Naruto chapter or the Boruto manga either. Hell, Kishi had barely any involvement with it compared to Hori and the MHA movies. Log in to Reply So glad they reacted to this!!! Log in to Reply I’ve been in the online anime community for 15+ years, and it’s hilarious how some things never change lmao. “Was this movie canon?” is as much of a universal fandom staple as “subs over dubs.” Anime movies are usually mostly non-canon, they’re just there to be fun fan service and make some extra cash for the studio. Sometimes they get referenced in-canon, sometimes not, point is they rarely affect the plot in any meaningful way. It’s not that deep. Log in to Reply Are people really still asking if movies are canon I’ve always thought it’s an obvious no unless stated otherwise. (Demon slayer for example) Log in to Reply Which they have been, the writer of the manga says they’re canon. Log in to Reply you guy going to react to the trailer for my hero world heroes mission Log in to Reply people arguing about this movie not being canon is funny because horikoshi himself confirmed it is actually canon in an interview. like, i don’t need anyone’s arguments when the creator himself said it is canon. if you look it up he even shared between which manga arc he imagines it to fit. in his head, it is canon so i won’t argue with that. also this was not only canon but it was supposed to be the actual endgame of the series he scrapped for something else, but like it so much he was excited to make a movie out of. so. yeah. i don’t know about the other 2 movies because those i’ve never read him talking about, but this one is canon to me based on what he said himself. seeing as the manga took a tool from the first movie too, i’d say he considers all the movies part of the timeline in canon even if they didn’t happen on his page drawn by his own had. all 3 movies are written in the way where they can fit into canon without drastically changing it, so i don’t get the big arguments that are so against it. Log in to Reply Y’all do realize that Horikoshi the author of MHA confirmed that the first movie is cannon Log in to Reply dang join the gang of people who reply to year+ old posts and think that talking to a wall means “old argument got smashed” “CANON HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE ANIME” horikoshi considers the movie canon. it’s canon to the anime story, at least. wait — horikoshi also wrote the manga adaptation of heroes rising. since he considers the story of heroes rising canon, and he did a manga adaptation, doesn’t that mean that it’s also canon to the manga story as well? hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm at the end of the day regardless of what you think the movie is insignificant to the main story so whatever. EatMyPost needs to control their quirk of getting triggered over random ass posts over the fucking internet lmfao Log in to Reply LEAVE YOUR COMMENT Cancel replyYou must be logged in to post a comment.
