  1. No, we need actual female representation and not just ones that are always talking about boys. I don’t understand how people see feminist stuff as a bad thing. We need more diversity in everything and female characters can have more depth and arcs and power as the male characters.

  2. You guys really should’ve reacted to the short filler arc before this episode for many different reasons. First and foremost, it gives context to this episode, some of the motives may have confused you guys, and secondly, the short filler arc before episode 107 had a nice little Star Wars reference, a weapon was used in that that was heavily influenced by lightsabers and I know how much you guys love Star Wars.

    1. I don’t really understand filler. It’s part of the episode count so why skip it if it’s part of the show? I was looking forward to going back and seeing their reactions to a lightsaber, but I guess I’ll never get to see it now. They must have forgot and skipped part of the show by accident. The numbers are missing too so you can tell

  3. I don’t remember you guys saying stuff like there were few strong female char in dbz and why isn’t Bulma stronger or strong as Goku now do you see your double standards, don’t get me wrong you have some valid critique about the show but are also judging it in 2021 era which is wrong imo.

      1. Because at some point it becomes dumb to blame everything on the writer. It makes more sense to look at it from the perspective of some realism. Would it be possible for a person to be like Sakura in her attitude and comportment? Yes, it’s very common, actually. Therefore you can judge based on a real evaluation. Just like if you were a certain way, you wouldn’t blame God (for example) for making you the way you are. That would just be a stupid way of looking at things.

  4. just know, if you compiled a list of the 10 best fights in anime, naruto would hold 3 or 4 of those spots. The choreography (even though its animated) is, at times, some of the best in the genre. If you liked this fight, you’re in for a real treat down the road

    1. It’s not. It’s CLEARLY part of the show. It’s included in the episode numbers for crying out loud and now there’s a stupid, obvious gap. I was really wanting to see their reactions to the lightsaber

  5. I’m loving how these guys are questioning as to why shikamaru was the one who became chunin. These guys are going to be surprised just how great he is.

    1. Well she definetly got better but she also has some of the worst moments in shippuden that will most likely piss off the crew when they see that, at least going according to how they react to sakura now.

        1. Unfortunately, I have to speak the truth and say that all the female characters in Naruto aren’t written great. It’s a shounen (Which I’m not saying is an excuse for lazy writing with female characters) so it gives you a pretty good idea that the author is most likely a dude with limited or no experience writing real women. I say real because female anime characters have always given me the creeps, they’re almost always written in the same ‘barbie’ way. That’s honestly one of the reasons why I stopped watching anime, these Naruto episodes are nice little blasts from the past, but I just wouldn’t enjoy watching a show where some characters are deliberately not paid attention too/written poorly.

          1. Uh, no, I feel like you got the wrong idea here. The female characters are kind of hollow, which does show his lack of experience with writing girls, but I hate when people try to act like female anime characters aren’t based in reality.
Just as weebs assume that Japan is too much like anime, people also have a habit of assuming that it doesn’t reflect Japan at all. This is also wrong.
Over the last few years, I’ve gotten to know a lot of Japanese people, and my closest friend; she is Japanese. The fact of the matter that a lot of anime character tropes, are common amongst Japanese people (yes, including the girls).

Also, Kishimoto’s portrayal of Sakura and Ino isn’t wrong. He is pretty accurate showing a pre-teen girl’s shallow side. The problem is that he fails to develop and explore those characters as the series goes on.

    1. I wouldn’t say Terrible, Tsunade is definitely on of the best written characters in general. Temari isn’t half bad either and is shown to be one of the more capable fighters in the show. Remember, it’s a big cast so obviously some characters are gonna have more development than others. It’s just one of the problems you run into when you have so many characters, inevitably some are just gonna be more important to others.

    2. Obviously, and it’s stupid and wrong when people say it doesn’t. Everything has been about straight, white cisgender men for centuries and we need more diversity. The female characters in this especially don’t do much and are written poorly and are just weak and so focused on boys and nothing else, no real substance. It’s stupid straight men writing everything and there’s no real representation. We need more gay and trans characters as well. You can’t just exclude people for no reason
