HIGHLY recommend the audiobooks. Jefferson Mays is a great narrator. If sitting down to read a 500 page book seems imposing, then a 20 hour book you can listen to while walking, driving, or doing chores will be much easier to stomach.
Different book readers will have different opinions, but books 8 is my favorite (and a lot of other people’s favorite) book of the series and book 9 (the final one) seems to have been very well received with few complaints. Readers are quite upset that the last 3 books don’t have a planned adaptation yet partly because we’re afraid we may never get to see the best part of the series on screen. I’m not too worried though. The source material is strong, so I know we’ll see it, whether it’s soon or many years from now.
